Vintage Hand Displays

After seeing a house tour on Apartment Therapy that featured the last three photos, I became mildly obsessed with vintage hand displays and glove molds. They look so striking and eerie, in their white plastic or ceramic material, stuck in a glamourous position forever. I've found a few shops on etsy who sell them from time-to-time, at a price. Mickey's Monkey and other thrift stores in the city seem to be a better, cheaper way to obtain these unique objects.

Art Display Inspiration

Four completely different yet equally inspiring ways to display photographs, keepsakes and art. Creating frames or areas to fill with art, etc. is such a lovely way to create a complete look. I have tried the vintage pant hanger approach as well as metal clips attached to baker's twine and love the effect it creates. Looking forward to having a fireplace or mantel to fill in the future!

Interior Photo of the Day

Interior Photo of the Day

I love all the light and plants in this image. What a perfect place to sit with a cup of tea and a book (a kitten on your lap would be an added bonus). Image found via apartment therapy, originally from Jeana Sohn.

Local Weather/ San Francisco

I will never check sfgate.com for weather again! This is so brilliant.

Paper Artists

My latest obsession has become the intricate work of whom I am calling "paper artists". I've been researching the lot of them and plan to chronicle the highlights of their work, here. Starting with Jaq Belcher, an artist whose portfolio has mysteriously disappeared but whose fantastic work can be seen on a favorite read of mine.

Summer Succulents

I found these amazing images of cacti and succulents recently and I keep coming back to them. The contrasting colors are so inspiring as are the textures of the different plants. via ellyy

Interior Photo of the Day

This happens to be one of my favorite interior shots ever. I think it's important to start out with the best.
